About the DepartmentDepartment of Film Studies commenced in 2005 as a general subject. It had 11 students & 1 faculty member then. The subject deals with evolution of cinema from a simple technological trick to a complex & most popular art form. In order to give the students an all round knowledge of the subject the curriculum also includes lesson on filmmaking technology & a practical film-making exercise. After a journey through the vastness of history of cinema, enriched by the knowledge of labourious process of its creation cinema would be more than a mere entertainment to the students.
