About the DepartmentThe department of Chemistry was introduced in 2005 as General Course. B.Sc after the NAAC (1st cycle). Initiation of honours course was thought in 2015 and affiliation was granted by the University of Calcutta in 2016. Finally introduction of Honours course in Chemistry in 2017 is a pioneering step towards expansion of the Science wing. Selection and pursuance of Chemistry as a subject in 3 years Hons. Course is very much a crucial and challenging activity towards the establishment of a bright future and sound career of the students in the modern Science and Technological Development. Keeping this in mind, Scientific Teaching methods (ICT) are adopted to improve learning of the students. The department is currently served by two full-time, one part-time and three guest faculties. A fully equipped Hons. laboratory with a laboratory attendant is there. Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced who emphasize the teaching in joyful atmosphere and dedication to nurture students . They provide the learning environment necessary for development of fresh minds. Eventually, strong manifestation of the spirit for Education relating to Women Empowerment is inculcated as this particular subject relates to core subjects like Physics, Astronomy, Meteorology, Electronics, Metallurgy, Archeology and a vast group of Engineering Sciences. Also Medicine, Neurology, Psychology, Geology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Biology, Botany and Agriculture will progress only if there is a clear conception about Chemistry.
