About the DeaprtmentThe Department of Bengali started its journey since the inception of Muralidhar Girls` College in the year 1940.The Department has the provision of Honours and General Course under Calcutta University. The Department has five Full Time teachers. The Department conducts meetings at regular intervals between members to update itself on syllabus, allotment of syllabus, examination, preparation of question papers, distribution of answer- scripts and so on in an organized manner. From time to time teachers of the Department meet the parents of the students. Students are given the opportunity to show their creativity in the magazine “Lekhany’’and the wall magazine “Alpakatha’’ published by the Department of Bengali. Educational excursions are held with a view to widening of the areas of knowledge of the students. The Departmental Library is well-stacked and different books and Journals are provided to students. The Department has successfully groomed the students and helped them to get settled in life. Faculty
